L’INAFFONDABILE/34 e due terzi

Riassunto delle puntate precedenti: attraverso i ricordi dell’armatore J.B. Ismay vediamo il primo ed ultimo viaggio del Titanic. Nel precedente episodio emergono le prime difficoltà nel calare le scialuppe senza un addestramento adeguato, mentre tra i passeggeri comincia a diffondersi l’intuizione del pericolo…

Note: a p. 32, il dialogo tra il signor Andrews e l’ufficiale Leightoller somiglia alla lontana a quello del film Titanic (Stati Uniti 1997, di J. Cameron, con L. Di Caprio, K. Winslet); la scena ambientata nel salone di terza classe è ispirata a quella analoga nella serie TV Titanic (Gran Bretagna-Ungheria 2012, di J. Fellowes); la quarta vignetta della seconda striscia apre una scena presente in Titanic, latitudine 41 Nord (Gran Bretagna 1958, di R. Baker, con K. Moore), che viene riproposta anche nella cit. serie TV Titanic del 2012, ma notevolmente espansa. La vicenda dell’amante del sig. Baxter, tra p. 32 e p. 33, è raccontata così com’è nel documentario Inside the Titanic, reperibile in rete. La gag comica basata sul nome della sig. Brown è ancora ripresa dal film per la TV S.O.S. Titanic (Gran Bretagna 1979); l’ultima vignetta di p. 33 riproduce abbastanza fedelmente un’analoga scena in Titanic, latitudine 41 Nord (cit.).

Summary of the previous episode: through the ship-owner J.B. Ismay’s memories, we can see the first and last voyage of the Titanic. In the last episode emerge the first difficulties in lowering the lifeboats without having received an adequate training, while among passengers starts to diffuse an intuition of the danger…

Notes: in page 32, the dialogue between Mr. Andrews and second officier Leightoller is a bit similar to the same one in the film Titanic (United States 1997, by J. Cameron, with L. Di Caprio, K. Winslet); the scene set in the third class lounge is inspired by the analogous one in the TV series Titanic (Great Britain-Hungary 2o12, by J. Fellowes); the forth cartoon in the second stripe opens a scene visible in A Night to Remember (Great Britain 1958, by R. Baker, with K. Moore), wich is referred and considerably expanded in the mentioned 2012 TV film Titanic. The episode of Mr. Baxter’s lover is represented as showed in the documentary Inside the Titanic, visible on the Net. The gag centered on Mrs. Brown’s name is still taken from the film S.O.S. Titanic (Great Britain 1979); the last cartoon of page 33 fairly faithfully reproduces the analogous scene in A Night to Remember.
